Environmental Design and Inspection Services is a Minneapolis-based company providing healthy home consultations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and throughout the country. Oram Miller, Certified Building Biology Environmental Inspector, provides healthy home and office evaluations to local clients on-site and to clients nationwide by telephone, fax, email and snail mail.

Consultations include assessment and mitigation of unhealthy electric and magnetic field exposure, indoor air quality, mold, and chemical outgassing. We check for natural gas and carbon monoxide leaks. Clients are also assisted in finding a new home that avoids sources of ill health.

In addition to helping people with existing homes, Oram consults on the design, building and remodeling of new and existing homes locally in Minnesota and nationwide. He recommends thermally insulating wall and foundation materials that are waterproof yet permeable. Nontoxic interior and exterior finishes, flooring, countertops and cabinets are recommended that do not outgas. Heating and cooling systems are discussed that conserve energy while promoting health. Passive and active solar design and day-lighting are also considered. A healthy electrical wiring protocol is provided to create reduced-EMF (electromagnetic field) exposure, particularly in sleeping areas.

Clients with multiple chemical sensitivities and electrical hypersensitivities find relief in knowing that their existing or newly designed home will provide a safe, nontoxic, energy-efficient environment in which to heal.
